The Whitewater Whippets were the 76-72 winners over the Brodhead Cardinals when they previously met in January. On Tuesday? They had no such luck. It was close but no cigar for Whitewater as they fell 78-75 to Brodhead. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the rankings mixed up the winning team.
The defeat dropped the Whippets' record to 7-13. Brodhead's win brought them up to 8-11.
The Whippets will square off against Edgerton Friday. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Whitewater now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds. Brodhead is on the road again Friday and plays against East Troy. Keep an eye on the score for this one: East Troy also posted a lofty point total in their previous contest, an 82-37 victory over McFarland.
