The Reno Huskies won the last time they faced the Bishop Manogue Miners, and things went their way on Friday too. Reno walked away with a 52-45 win over the Miners. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Reno.
Harvey Smerdon was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points. Jackson Higgins was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Bishop Manogue saw an underclassman step up: James Williams scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Jackson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Reno has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Bishop Manogue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reno will take on the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Manogue, they will head out on the road to face off against the Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home.
