Hayden has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Caprock Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hayden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Hayden came up short against De Beque and fell 53-46.
Jenna Kleckler put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 28 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That was a full 60.9% of Hayden's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Schlim, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Caprock Academy beat Ridgway 41-37 on Monday. The victory was just what Caprock Academy needed coming off of a 79-18 defeat in their prior contest.
Hayden's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Caprock Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Hayden took their win against Caprock Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 59-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hayden since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
