Basketball Recap: Redwood Christian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Redwood Christian entered their tilt with Swett on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They greeted the New Year with with an 87-71 victory over the Swett Warriors.

Redwood Christian was led to victory by Nehemiah Mitchell and David Rogers. Mitchell went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Rogers dropped a double-double on 37 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Mitchell is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Bansraj, who posted eight points along with six assists and three steals.

Redwood Christian pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Swett, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Redwood Christian will take on Making Waves Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Redwood Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Making Waves Academy likes a good challenge. As for Swett, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-61 victory against De Anza on the 7th.
