Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lakota walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Van Buren Black Knights on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Grant Scherger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Scherger wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Kern, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Grant Bomer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Lakota's record is now 15-10. As for Van Buren, they moved to 24-3 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Lakota nor the Black Knights have any future games scheduled.
