With a playoff game on the line, West Middlesex rose to the challenge  on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cochranton Cardinals  a   15-0 shutout. West Middlesex's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Kyle Gilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Gilson was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Tyler Blanton was  incredible,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Bowen Briggs, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 The  victory  made it two in a row for West Middlesex and  bumps their season record up to 8-11. As for Cochranton, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost nine of their last 11 contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record  this season.
 West Middlesex will square off against Youngsville at 2:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Cochranton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
