After flying high against the Williamsburg Academy Stallions last Tuesday, the Christian Academy Saints came back down to earth. Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 29-28 to Wilson Hall. Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wilson Hall apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Payton Rumley. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rumley hasn't dropped below 12 rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Carly Belle Jackson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Wilson Hall, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 30-20 win vs. Florence Christian on the 9th. Wilson Hall has also already played their next game, a 45-25 win against Laurence Manning Academy on the 9th.
