On Friday, The Westerly Bulldogs faced the South Kingstown Rebels in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Westerly took down South Kingstown 31-13. The victory was familiar territory for Westerly who now have five in a row.
Westerly's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Husereau, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Luke Nelson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Westerly's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for South Kingstown, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
Westerly will be playing in front of their home fans against Burrillville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Burrillville is ranked ninth, while Westerly is ranked sixth). As for South Kingstown, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Raphael Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
