The North Callaway Thunderbirds lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Higbee, falling 76-48. While losing is never fun, North Callaway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while the Tigers are ranked 183rd).
When it comes to explaining why North Callaway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sam Pezold. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Isiah Craighead was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
