Roanoke Rapids has gone 8-2 against Bunn recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Roanoke Rapids' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Rocky Mount as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.
Cadence Ball was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Roanoke Rapids got a big performance out of Destiny Wallace, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those runs marked the first that Wallace scored this season. Morgan Beam was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Bunn won against Northern Nash last Tuesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Thursday. The Wildcats beat Franklinton by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Like Roanoke Rapids, Bunn also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Baez. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Baez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other batting news, Peyton Alford was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maycey Buchanan, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.
Bunn pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Roanoke Rapids, their record now sits at 11-3.
Bunn's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Roanoke Rapids has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bunn, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Roanoke Rapids keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
Roanoke Rapids beat Bunn 4-1 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
