The Climax-Scotts Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Gobles Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Climax-Scotts had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Bellevue on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Broncos 17-1. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won seven in a row.

Addy Reeves was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Holly Talbert was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Ona Newland also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Gobles came out on top against Martin on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on six straight.
Like Climax-Scotts, Gobles also got a great game from a two-way player: Daisy Jackson. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Riley Johnson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Erica Barber, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Gobles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Gobles pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Climax-Scotts, their record is now 7-4.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Climax-Scotts has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .514. However, it's not like Gobles struggles in that department as they've averaged .508. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
