Sands had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 28-24 W over the Grady Wildcats on Friday. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 29-24 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2025.

Sands' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-13. As for Grady, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sands will square off against rival Dawson at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Grady is set to challenge their familiar foe Borden County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
