Windsor Charter Academy was handed a 36-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Falcons last Saturday. Windsor Charter Academy skirted past the Falcons 41-38. The victory was just what Windsor Charter Academy needed coming off of a 68-32 loss in their prior matchup.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Morgan Kimmi and Katelyn Fortune. Kimmi had a solid game and scored 11 points along with two steals. Meanwhile, Fortune did her best for the losing side, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, SkyView Academy's game on Monday was all tied up 10-10 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Lyons by a score of 31-20.
Lydia Slocum had a dynamite game for SkyView Academy, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. Slocum has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keira Hayat, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Windsor Charter Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for SkyView Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Windsor Charter Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like SkyView Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
