Connersville has gone 9-1 against Lawrenceburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Spartans will challenge the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Connersville is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
Connersville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Knightstown with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Taylynn Selby made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bre Brock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Green, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Connersville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against East Central on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 7-5. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lawrenceburg saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izabella Miller, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was Miller's first of the season. Jill Cavanaugh was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Connersville pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lawrenceburg, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Connersville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Lawrenceburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Connersville came out on top in a nail-biter against Lawrenceburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
