After a string of three wins, the Robertsdale Golden Bears's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were dealt a 53-25 loss at the hands of St. Michael Catholic. Robertsdale has not had much luck with St. Michael Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Robertsdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Shaunte Sanders, who scored six points along with ten rebounds. Sanders set a new season high mark in blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Johansen, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Robertsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for St. Michael Catholic, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Robertsdale will head out on the road to face off against Bayside Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Michael Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Gulf Shores at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gulf Shores is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
