Swain County is a perfect 3-0 against Asheville since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Swain County Maroon Devils will head out to take on the Asheville Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Asheville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Swain County, who comes in off a win.
Swain County proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Chase 6-4.

Rylee Rawls made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Swain County let Faith Woodard and Hadley Shuler run wild. Woodard went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Shuler scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Carley Teesateskie, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
Swain County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Asheville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-1 to Chase.
Asheville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camila Wyda Wyda, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Soren Cox also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Asheville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Swain County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Asheville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Swain County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Asheville, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Swain County keep running through batters, or will Asheville buck the trend?
Everything went Swain County's way against Asheville in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, as Swain County made off with a 16-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Swain County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
