The Mabank Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 47-6 loss at the hands of Kaufman. Mabank has struggled against Kaufman recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Kaufman was led to victory by Kylevon Morrow and Elijah Rose. Morrow rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, while Rose rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Aljour Miles ii also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Mabank's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Sulphur Springs and 7-1 Anna (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Kaufman, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mabank will face off against Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Community comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Kaufman, they will head out on the road to face off against Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
