Basketball Recap: Lakes Takes a Loss

Lakes was the 51-22 winner over Crystal Lake South when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakes Eagles fell 53-43 to the Crystal Lake South Gators on Saturday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Lakes still got an impressive performance from Kaylee Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. That's the most boards Anderson has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Wrenna Streicher, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Crystal Lake South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Lakes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-42 defeat against Woodstock North on the 16th. As for Crystal Lake South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-55 loss against Belvidere on the 16th.
