The South Sevier Rams will face off against the Westlake Thunder at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
South Sevier had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Wasatch on Friday. South Sevier never let Wasatch get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kloe Donohue made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Lynch, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Caitlin Nielson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
South Sevier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wasatch only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Westlake won against Tooele on Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went Westlake's way against Canyon View as Westlake made off with an 11-3 victory. Fans of the Thunder have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Ryan Pead and Audrey Sherman did most of the damage at the plate: Pead scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Sherman went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire DuBois, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
South Sevier's record now sits at 3-1. As for Westlake, their record is now 3-0.
Westlake's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. South Sevier has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Westlake, though, as they've been averaging only 2 strikeouts. Will South Sevier keep running through batters, or will Westlake buck the trend?
South Sevier beat Westlake 10-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2015. Does South Sevier have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westlake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
