Berlin extended the longest winning streak in Central Connecticut III East this week by beating Rockville, 47-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Platt made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,963 from 10,293. The improvement came about via a 30-19 victory over Tolland last week.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andrew McBride threw for 244 and one touchdown and Creme Watford had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Potts chipped in 160 yards. Olajuwon McLeod helped Platt's passing attack out by catching three balls for 55 yards.
Berlin's Mitch Williams and Tyler Bouchard have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 767 yards this season, while Bouchard, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 18 catches for 314 yards. Potts from Platt leads the league in rushing with 954 yards.
Jason Bruenn's team's Potts is a mere 46 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when John Capodice's team takes on Plainville. The Redcoats are in first place, while the Blue Devils are in fifth place.
