New Town has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Overlea, posting a 71-14 win at home. That looming 71-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for New Town yet this season.
New Town's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tarshay Bell, who scored 15 points. Nialah Mingo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Old Mill's 16-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Glen Burnie 34-29. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Old Mill in their matchups with Glen Burnie: they've now lost eight in a row.
New Town pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Old Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
New Town came up short against Old Mill in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 47-40. Can New Town avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
