Christian Liberty will head out on the road to face off against the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Liberty is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Christian Liberty was beaten by Alden-Hebron 55-21.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, Schaumburg Christian was not quite Woodlands Academy's equal in the second half on Monday. Schaumburg Christian took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodlands Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Schaumburg Christian came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Woodlands Academy is ranked 567th).
Schaumburg Christian's loss came about despite a quality game from Carynton Hobson, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and 12 steals. The contest was Hobson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Tenuto, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Christian Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Schaumburg Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Everything came up roses for Christian Liberty against Schaumburg Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2021 as the squad secured a 62-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Liberty since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
