Athens didn't have too much trouble with Auburn last Friday as they won 27-7. Junior Nic Laird and senior Dalton Digiovanna were among the main playmakers for Athens as the former and the latter rushed for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry lost to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 7-50. Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-28.
Athens's victory lifted them to 4-1 while Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry's loss dropped them down to 1-4. Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Athens defensive front that amassed four sacks against Auburn, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
