This season hasn't been kind to the Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors, who are still winless after their fifth game. The New Year welcomed they with a 55-10 whooping from Gulf Pointe Latin on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lighthouse Baptist Academy has scored all season.
Holland Hamer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gulf Pointe Latin, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hamer has scored at least 25% of Gulf Pointe Latin's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Matthews, who scored 18 points.
Lighthouse Baptist Academy's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.4 points per game. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lighthouse Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Central Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. Central Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Gulf Pointe Latin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Santa Rosa Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 9th.
