The Clymer Central Pirates's 19-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 65-52 to Salamanca on Saturday. Clymer Central has not had much luck with Salamanca recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Clymer Central still got an impressive performance from Kaden Beckerink, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Beckerink continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Massing, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Clymer Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Salamanca, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clymer Central will challenge Maple Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Salamanca, they will head out on the road to challenge Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Southwestern: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Salamanca has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
