Union Academy strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Albemarle Bulldogs a 16-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Union Academy got a massive performance out of Taylor Surratt, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Paisley Boatright was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Union Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .840. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

Union Academy pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Albemarle, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Union Academy Cardinals challenge Providence Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Providence will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Union Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Albemarle, they will square off against Thomasville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
