After a string of four wins, the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Ottawa-Glandorf on the road and fell 68-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Canton Central Catholic has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Canton Central Catholic had strong showings from Jonathan Stangl, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds, and Luke Vlacovsky, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The matchup was Vlacovsky's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Canton Central Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Ottawa-Glandorf, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Canton Central Catholic will finish 2023 at home by hosting Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Aquinas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday. Ottawa-Glandorf will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Lima Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lima Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Ottawa-Glandorf is ranked tenth).
