Canton and Howell are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Canton Chiefs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Howell Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Canton entered their tilt with Salem with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Canton came out on top against Salem by a score of 69-62 on Friday. Given Canton's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Salem is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Canton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bradley Eziuka, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Joey Pierson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Howell posted their closest victory since January 5th on Tuesday. They skirted past Plymouth 44-41.
Canton's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Howell, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Canton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Howell in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory. Does Canton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Howell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
