The Lebanon Warriors will head out to take on the Silverton Foxes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon will be strutting in after a victory while Silverton will be coming in after a loss.
Lebanon was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Crescent Valley on Wednesday. The Warriors never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the game before.
Majestah Nida made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Nida was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Genevieve Osburg was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Tatum Cole was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Silverton was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Dallas by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Foxes in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost three in a row.
Madalynn Ehrens made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Lebanon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Silverton, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Lebanon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Silverton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lebanon suffered a grim 15-8 defeat to Silverton in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
