Even though the Bethany Wolves have not done well against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Bethany secured a 51-47 W over Clover Garden School. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Bethany was the better team in the second half.
Bethany's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Haley Ricketts, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals. Ricketts has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Leah Denny was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Bethany's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Clover Garden School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethany won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cornerstone Charter at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Cornerstone Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Clover Garden School, they will head out on the road to challenge Woods Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woods Charter is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
