After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marion, the Aliceville Yellowjackets were happy to have found some success on Friday. They slipped by Tuscaloosa Academy 48-47. This was a revenge matchup for Aliceville, as the team was forced to settle for a 46-45 defeat when these two played last Thursday.
It was another big night for Tyquan Simon, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Javian Mosely was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Aliceville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.
Aliceville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Marion at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. Marion is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Tuscaloosa Academy will take on Holy Spirit Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
