The Central Blue Devils put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 53-48 win over East Side. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while East Side is ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mejwad Dixon, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Dixon hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Michael Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Central's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for East Side, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bard on December 22nd. East Side will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop Eustace Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
