The Wiggins Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Wray Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wiggins is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Wiggins came up short against Haxtun and fell 9-5. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Larry Garcia put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Jace Yzaguirre made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Wray entered their tilt with Caliche on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Buffaloes. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Like Wiggins, Wray also got a great game from a two-way player: Gage Waitman. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Waitman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Zoltan Custer was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Rockwell, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Wray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Wray's record is now 13-2. As for Wiggins, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wiggins has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wray struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wiggins might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Wray in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
