After two games on the road, Mount St. Charles Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Mt. Pleasant Kilties at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mount St. Charles Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
Mount St. Charles Academy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season. They were the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over Cranston East. The score was close at the half, but Mount St. Charles Academy pulled away in the second half with 32 points.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Addie Johnson and Mya Jiminez. Johnson had a solid game and scored nine points along with three steals. Meanwhile, Jiminez did her best for the losing side, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Mt. Pleasant, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were beaten by East Greenwich 59-11 on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mt. Pleasant has scored all season.
Mount St. Charles Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Mt. Pleasant, they bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home.
Mount St. Charles Academy took their win against Mt. Pleasant when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 74-48. Will Mount St. Charles Academy repeat their success, or does Mt. Pleasant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
