The Horizon Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 76-46 defeat at the hands of Desert Mountain. Horizon has not had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Hayes, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Rodgers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Horizon has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Desert Mountain, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Horizon will be playing at home against the Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Chaparral's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Desert Mountain, they and the Jackrabbits will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mesa is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.
