Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gibson Roberts out in front who went 10 for 20 on his way to 23 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The game was Roberts' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Erwin, who went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Despite the loss, Tri County Northeast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landyn Servine went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Servine. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Jorgensen, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-0. As for Tri County Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will venture away from home to square off against Ponca at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Ponca likes a good challenge. As for Tri County Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Winside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
