After two games on the road, King's Academy is heading back home. They will take on the LEAD Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
King's Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 70-43 loss at the hands of Marshall Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat King's Academy has suffered against Marshall Christian Academy since February 11, 2020.
Despite their defeat, King's Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Hellwig, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Atkinson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, LEAD Academy took a serious blow against King's Academy on January 5th, falling 59-29. LEAD Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
King's Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 18 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for LEAD Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
