Even though the El Toro Chargers scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves still came out on top. Wiseburn- Da Vinci took their matchup against El Toro 76-65. Given Wiseburn- Da Vinci's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while El Toro is ranked 823rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Marin, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Bass, who scored 12 points.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for El Toro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci is on the road again on Saturday and play against Norco at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. Norco knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Wiseburn- Da Vinci likes a good challenge. As for El Toro, they will take on Walnut at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
