The Marbury Bulldogs waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They managed a 46-41 win over Chilton County. For Marbury, this counts as revenge for the 55-53 defeat Chilton County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Marbury's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addyson Jarman, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jarman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Brown, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Marbury has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Chilton County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marbury's road trip will continue as they head out to face Autaugaville at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Autaugaville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Chilton County, they will head out on the road to face off against Benjamin Russell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benjamin Russell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Chilton County is ranked 121st).
