Softball Recap: Carrabec Drops Season-High Score on Temple Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carrabec). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Temple Academy Bereans a 30-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cobras in their matchups with the Bereans: they've now won five in a row.

Jillian Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Robinson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Carrabec got a massive performance out of Aiyana Tibbetts, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Tibbetts has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Karen Baker was another key player, going 5-for-6 with three stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI.

Carrabec always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Carrabec's record is now 7-1. As for Temple Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrabec will challenge Wiscasset at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.3 runs per game on average), something the Cobras will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Temple Academy, they will take on Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
