Given Medgar Evers College Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Tilden is ranked 780th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Medgar Evers College Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Edwards' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dejon Williams, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Medgar Evers College Prep pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Tilden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
