The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will square off against the Bell County Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Joseph Academy 3.2, Bell County 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Thursday, St. Joseph Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Christ's Church Academy and fell 6-5. The Flashes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brett Belloni was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, St. Joseph Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Miskowiec, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Dayton Taylor was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Bell County got themselves on the board against Williamsburg on Friday, but Williamsburg never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Yellow Jackets. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Brayden Carroll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
In other batting news, Jackson Walters was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joseph Brigmon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Bell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsburg only posted an OBP of .105.
Bell County pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Joseph Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bell County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
