After flying high against the Waynesville Tigers on Wednesday, the Grain Valley Eagles came back down to earth. Grain Valley took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rolla on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Willow Gideon, who scored 22 points. The game was Gideon's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Resa Martin, who scored 14 points.
Grain Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Rolla, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Grain Valley will take on Raytown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rolla will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Camdenton at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th.
