It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the DeSoto Eagles had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by the Bulldogs on the road to the tune of 74-14. The win was just business as usual for DeSoto, who after 15 games remain undefeated this season.
DeSoto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Darius Bailey out in front who threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing scores. Marvin Duffey was another key contributor, rushing for 158 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to DeSoto's defense and their six sacks. Summer Creek's QB won't forget Marshall Kirven anytime soon given Kirven sacked him 2.5 times.
DeSoto's win bumped their record up to 15-0. As for Summer Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-2.
DeSoto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Summer Creek also has no future games currently scheduled.
