The Lakeland Regional Lancers suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. Their tough 67-45 defeat to Fair Lawn might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lakeland Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Fair Lawn is ranked 76th).
Noah Pagan and Joe Zonis certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Pagan dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Zonis scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Pagan hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyler Lynn, who scored eight points.
Lakeland Regional has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Fair Lawn, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Regional will play host again and welcome Park Ridge, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fair Lawn, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wayne Hills at 4:15 p.m.
