After both having extra time off, the Perry Meridian Falcons and the Beech Grove Hornets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Perry Meridian has six straight wins, Beech Grove has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Tuesday, Perry Meridian made easy work of Plainfield and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Perry Meridian was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 25-11.

Perry Meridian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Avan Van, who had 12 digs and one assist, and Ram Ni Chin, who had ten assists. Van has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times he's played. Matthew O'Connor also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.
Perry Meridian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Beech Grove lost 3-0 to International on Friday.
While Beech Grove was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.
Perry Meridian's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Beech Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
Perry Meridian was able to grind out a solid victory over Beech Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
