The MAST Charter II Voyagers waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past South Philadelphia with a 62-58 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cedric Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of MAST Charter II's points. Basil Graham was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
MAST Charter II's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for South Philadelphia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
MAST Charter II won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Martin Luther at 4:45 p.m. on January 26th. Martin Luther comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for South Philadelphia, they will head out on the road to square off against Samuel Fels at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
