Softball Recap: Harmony Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Harmony's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Gateway Panthers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Hailey Baker looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Harmony got a massive performance out of Alyssa Acosta, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Acosta has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Green, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Harmony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harmony has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Gateway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harmony will venture away from home to take on Eau Gallie at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Gateway, they will head out to square off against Satellite at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
