It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the East Nicolaus Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Williams 49-0 at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point East Nicolaus had established a 42 point advantage.
East Nicolaus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristan Kotko, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Kotko was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Taylor, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
East Nicolaus now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Williams, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-8.
East Nicolaus will square off against Colusa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colusa will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Williams does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
