Wright City extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 13-10 in the process. Everything went their way against the Winfield Warriors as they made off with a 9-2 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
As for Winfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
For Winfield's part, Warren Conrad was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. Conrad was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.
Conrad wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Hudson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
